Vineeta Garg leveraged technology to develop several Android apps catering to the individual needs of learners. This helped her promote multilingualism and contribute to an inclusive learning environment. As the Head of the IT Department at SRDAV Public School in Delhi, Vineeta also works towards sensitizing the young generation about cyber threats. Through her gaming apps, Vineeta educates the audience about the importance of securing their digital footprint and digital devices.

Experience

With 29 years of rich and versatile experience in the field of technology, Vineeta has educated the young generation about emerging technologies and their potential threats. Her low-cost innovative teaching aids and integration of performing arts make learning fun for her students. She believes in having an inclusive classroom for all students and therefore, her teaching methodologies are personalized to cater to individual needs and interests.

Initiatives

  • Android Apps To Promote Multilingualism

Vineeta has developed two Android apps namely Python in Hindi and Python For All to embrace linguistic diversity and explain basic Python programming concepts in Hindi and other Indic languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, and English. Python In Hindi has over 5000 downloads so far. Through these apps, she explains the concepts with relevant pictures, screenshots, and diagrams for quick comprehension and better understanding. Besides providing the topic notes, her app contains chapter-wise assignments and online quizzes for an engaging learning experience.

  • Educational Gaming Apps For Cyber Awareness

To increase Cybersecurity Awareness, Vineeta has developed an Android app called Cyber Shield that won the Global Cyber Challenge, in 2017. She has also developed an Android gaming app known as Smart Netizens which is available in 9 Indian regional languages. Through the concept of gaming, Vineeta aims to educate the public on issues such as Cybersecurity and emphasises the importance of safeguarding one’s digital presence. 

  • Social Campaigns To Aid Underprivileged Students

As a Global SDG Ambassador, Vineeta has initiated several campaigns on social issues at the National and International level. Her campaign Robotics For All has helped to plant the seed of STEM education in the young workforce including students with special needs and those from underprivileged sections of the society. In 2018, she initiated another one of her global projects, The Safe Spaces, to promote peace in schools where nearly 153 schools from around 35 countries participated.
