With the closure of schools and colleges during the COVID-19 induced lockdown, online model of schooling became the new normal. To ensure that learning never stops even during these unprecedented times, Ravindra Thakur, an Economics teacher from Govt Sr Sec School Baldeyan, Himachal Pradesh, made more than 170 videos covering the complete academic syllabus of class 12th Economics and uploaded them on YouTube.


Mr. Ravindra, says that he is not at all a tech-savvy person and initially started conducting live classes for students through the Zoom App. However, after privacy-related concerns started surfacing, he discontinued the classes and started sending video lectures as part of the "Har Ghar Pathshala" initiative, along with his personalized notes.

After taking inspiration from the teachers who were making videos for the said initiative, Mr. Ravindra started making his own videos on the basis of the weekly syllabus released by the department and sending them to his students. However, his journey was not easy as he faced storage-related challenges and connectivity issues.In order to overcome these issues, he decided to create his own YouTube channel from which students across the country could benefit. Thus, began the journey of ‘Arthashastra Guruji’.

Mr. Ravindra made videos on the complete academic syllabus of Class 12th Economics and has uploaded more than 170 videos on his YouTube channel which is aptly titled 'Arthashastra Guruji'. At present, he has 1.25K Subscribers and more than 170 Playlist videos and 42K views.

To ensure continuity of studies for students during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Ravindra made painstaking efforts and despite lacking technical knowledge and skills set, made academically-rich and simple-to-understand videos for the betterment of students from a humble background.
