Pooja Priyamvada is a columnist, author, professional translator, and social media consultant. A single parent and fibromyalgia survivor, she believes that she derives her strength from being a voracious reader and a tea connoisseur. Presently, Pooja is the Academic Director at the International Institute of Mass Media (IIMM), Delhi.

Experience

Pooja has a rich and diverse work experience of over 23 years in the fields of content, literature, social issues, radio, digital media, and teaching. She is a trained mental health first aider, mindfulness and grief facilitator, emotional wellness trainer, reflective listener, mental health researcher, and suicide prevention activist. She has been associated with and published at reputed national and global portals. Pooja is also a professional content translator and has translated A Night in the Hills, a collection of short stories by Manav Kaul.

  • Authored An E-Book On Mental Health: A Primer

Pooja has authored an e-book which is a short manual aiming at de-stigmatizing mental health and offering some directions and insights. A Primer includes the theories and science behind mental health issues and offers practical tips on medications, therapies, and coping strategies. Pooja has also talked about her mental health battles in the book as well as her observations as a mental health first aid provider, researcher, and activist.

Pooja Priyamvada is a bi-lingual blogger and columnist who emphasises gender issues, identity, and marginalization faced by the people.
