  • Achievement: Developed a multi-alarm medication reminder system, Meditel

To help senior citizens manage their medication schedules, Nikhil Lemos invented a device, Meditel, that comes with a pill organiser and is integrated into a reusable water bottle. Nikhil is a Class 10 student of Navrachana Higher Secondary School, Sama in Vadodara, Gujarat. The device is not only an alarm but also a way to help people take charge of their health.

Initiative

To solve the inconvenience faced by his grandparents, Nikhil invented Meditel to provide a solution for those who forget to take their medications on time. As per his research, nearly 52 percent of senior citizens suffer from comorbidities. Meditel will help such patients to take their medications on time.

Users can set up to 6 alarms as a medication reminder. For the users' convenience, an LED is installed inside the pill holder that will glow when it is time to take a specific medicine. Meditel also comes with a pill organizer and a reusable water bottle to provide a hassle-free experience to its users.

Meditel was invented to assist a diverse range of individuals from senior citizens to frequent travellers who tend to forget to carry their medicines. The unique invention specifically targets UN SDG 3, that is, good health and well-being by supporting medication adherence. Moreover, Meditel aims to be a one-stop solution for medication management.
