Monica extends her role beyond the administrative domain and actively engages in training teachers and students on IT skills to empower them with the latest technologies. She has been able to reach and impact over 25000 students and 500 co-learners and their families directly and indirectly.

Experience

Monica has a rich experience of 24 years in the field of teaching. She has an MCA degree and is presently the IT Head at Sat Paul Mittal School in Ludhiana, Punjab, where she has showcased her technical and management skills. Her expertise has been recognized on international platforms, including Microsoft Edu Summits, Future Skills Project in Finland 2023, and Edutech Asia in Singapore, where she has spoken extensively on the power of Gamification in Education.

Initiatives

  • Innovation Fests and Entrepreneurship Programs For Young Minds

To ensure the spark of creativity and innovation never dims, Monica Joshi organised the Satyan Innovation Fest and Satyan Entrepreneurship Program for students. These events were aimed at providing an ideal platform for tech-savvy students to use their creativity and find solutions to longstanding societal issues. The participants were provided hands-on training and IT tools to enhance their creativity and innovation. The innovation and entrepreneurship programs saw the participation of over 25 schools across the country.

  • Global Connect Events For International Exposure Of Students 

To provide a better understanding of the global and cross-cultural environment, Monia provided students an opportunity to explore intercultural theories and models with American Field Service (AFS) programs like GCCTeens, Virtual Class Exchange, student exchange programs, and faculty exchange programs. To empower, equip, and help create socially responsible global citizens, the school collaborates with Microsoft and conducts a 48-hour global learning event called Skype a Thon to deepen students’ understanding of the world beyond their classroom walls. Monica contributed to collaborating with more than 110 countries and helped students travel more than 1 lakh virtual miles. 

  • Utilizing  Gamification In Education 

Monica Joshi strongly advocates the power of gamification in the field of education and encourages students and teachers to design educational games and activities that transform learning into a playful experience. She believes that gamification elements like points, rewards, and competition have motivated students and created an interactive classroom environment. As part of her initiatives to promote gamification in education, Monica has been actively sharing tips on Wakelet to get started with Minecraft for learning. Throughout her journey as an educator, Monica has reached out to over 25,000 students.
