MsSameexa Saxena, Physical Education Teacher at Delhi's Ahlcon International School is on a mission to shape the future of one child with special needs. She is a qualified swimming coach and wants to train children to become good swimmers and represent India on the International level as in Paralympics. Her zeal to help specially-abled children excel in different spheres led her to meet Shiv Juneja -a student with special needs at her school. Looking at Shiv’s potential and the commitment to work hard on his swimming skills, Sameexa took him under her wing and has been training him to reach his true potential.

Achievements  

The journey of training Shiv was a tough task for Sameexa, but despite the challenges, she pushed and motivated him to continue learning the necessary skills to excel in swimming. Thanks to the motivation and coaching of Ms. Saxena, Shiv has managed to not only perform well but excel in several national and international-level competitions.

Shiv has bagged two gold medals, one silver, and bronze at Delhi state para-Swimming meet 2019 held at VenkateswarGlobal School, Delhi, and 5th Inclusive Inter-School Swimming competition 2019 held at Step-by-Step Noida. Shiv Juneja has also been selected to compete in XXI-National Para Swimming Championship 2021-2022 which will be held at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon Swimming Pool, Rajasthan from March 23-26, 2022. 

Ms. Sameexa Saxena is a finalist for Best Initiative (For Children with Special Needs [CWSN]) because...she saw the potential of a specially-abled child and coached him to learn the necessary skills and techniques to help him excel as a swimmer. In the future, she plans on reaching out to more specially-abled children and helping them as well.
